As of publication, the letter has over 450 signatures, almost 400 of which come from Google employees and the rest from OpenAI. There is no syscall surface to attack because the code never makes syscalls. Memory safety is enforced by the runtime. The linear memory is bounds-checked, the call stack is inaccessible, and control flow is type-checked. Modern runtimes add guard pages and memory zeroing between instances.
This one was a lot better than others. For every SAT problem with 10 variables and 200 clauses it was able to find a valid satisfying assignment.
